Note

BERN has a historic center which is a UNESCO World Heritage Site and boasts 6 kilometers of arches, one of the longest covered commercial promenades in Europe. Walking through the city you will breathe a medieval atmosphere thanks to the numerous fountains, brick facades, alleys and historic towers. The shops, bars and café-theaters of the historic center, partly obtained from cellars with barrel vaults and small cafes, attract both the Bernese and tourists. The largest collection of the works of the painter Paul Klee is kept in the Paul Klee Center. Albert Einstein's house testifies to the physicist's stay in Bern at the beginning of the 20th century and can be combined with a visit to the Einstein museum. Bern also has a lot to offer in terms of exhibitions, such as the Historical Museum, the Art Museum, the Swiss Alpine Museum or the Museum of Communication
NOT TO BE MISSED:
You can have the most beautiful view of the city from the rose garden overlooking the Bear Pit or from the platform of the 101-meter tower of the cathedral. The ancient ramparts drop steeply towards the shore.
Bern is also the seat of the Swiss government. A few steps from the main station is the Bundeshaus, or the Federal Building, seat of the Parliament.

THUN
: The city of Thun, at the lower end of Lake Thun, is the gateway to the Bernese Oberland. The historic center, whose center is dominated by the 12th century castle enriched by its museum, extends along the Aare. Further tourist attractions in the old town are the town church with its tower from around 1330, the 16th century town hall, the old town itself and the numerous restaurants and cafes along the Aare.

The GREEN TRAIN OF THE SWISS ALPS travels from Domodossola to Bern. It is a journey of about 2 hours in the heart of the Alps passing through the Rhone Valley and to admire the landscape with the peaks of the Jungfrau in the background. The Green Train runs along the Simplon and Lötschberg lines over a hundred years old. It climbs into the mountains offering panoramic views through large windows onto the sunny terraces of the Valais and the mountains of the Bernese Oberland with Kandersteg. On the north side of the Alps the descent to Lake Thun begins. You will skirt the lake before reaching Bern, the federal capital of Switzerland with the old town, a UNESCO heritage site.
